Ballengee Misses Many Airport Authority Meetings
Waynette Ballengee is one of three Shreveport Airport Authority members that Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins wants to replace on the Shreveport Airport Authority boards.
Ballengee has acknowledged that these appointments are political. But she does not believe she can legally be replaced mid-stream in her term.
Ballengee has requested an Louisiana Attorney General opinion on this question.
Ballengee was appointed to the Airport Authority in June 2015 by then Mayor Ollie Tyler. Ballengee had been a big supporter of Tyler during her campaign for mayor.
In 2016, 2017 and 2018 she missed 4 meetings each year. In 2016 there were 11 meetings. In 2017 and 2018 there were 12 meetings each year.
In total she has missed 13 of the 42 meetings of the board since her appointment. This number is through February of this year.
Ballengee’s absences far exceed the number of missed meeting by the other current board members.
