What had been rumored has now happened.

Members of the Shreveport Airport Authority Board and the airport management staff have been named in a complaint filed with the Louisiana Legislative auditor.

The complaint addresses many public complaints.

These include donations of public funds to a board member’s for-profit events, donations to organizations/events closely associated with board members, the receipt and disbursement of tickets to events sponsored by the airport, and the failure of the authority to post board minutes on the authority’s website.

There are also allegations of unlawful transfers of airport funds and false accounting.

There is some water cooler talk that the actions of board members/airport staff are also the subject of a joint Shreveport Police and Caddo Sheriff white collar crime investigation.

Board members are Waynette Ballengee, Margaret Shehee, Mary Jackson. Grant Nuckols, and Jonathan Reynolds. Bishop Larry Brandon, a former board member, also received tickets to an airport sponsored events.

The authority’s management staff includes interim director Stacky Kuba, marketing/pr manager Mark Crawford and business/finance director Anita MacQueen.
