Many residents living within the Cypress Black Bayou Recreation and Water Conservation District are upset. Despite voting against a property tax increase/bond proposal in October (by a two-to-one margin), they will nevertheless see increased fees and more expensive leases for boathouses. Because fees are going up across the board, this will also hit the pocketbooks of non-residents who pay to use the park and boat launch. The five-member board unanimously voted for the increased fees on Nov. 12, one month to the day after the bond proposal election was defeated.
