I recall or “recollect” my growing up years in rural Greenwood. In the late summer(s) and early fall(s), my cousins and I would play in the woods near our homes. Various wild fruits and berries, I think that’s what these were would fall from the trees and shrubs to the ground. We knew from experience which ones to eat. Some of these could be classified as delicacies. First bites were often the best bites! The sweet taste and “juicy juice” of some of these fruits and berries satisfied our palates.
