John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

STATE SHOULD PROMOTE SAFER HORSE RACING CONDITIONS

Everybody agrees there’s a problem, but nobody yet agrees on a solution to a scourge that has accelerated at Harrah’s Louisiana Downs in Bossier City.

Increasingly, horse races in America feature one or more equine competitors dying in the immediate aftermath. Most notoriously at California’s high-profile Santa Anita track, over four dozen expired last year with several more having gone that way out of the gate at its 2020 season, and at the sport’s televised showcase event, the Breeder’s Cup, last year, another went to his death.
