CADDO PARISH ASMC HOSTS SUCCESSFUL 2ND ANNUAL ‘SHELTER REUNION DAY’
Caddo Parish Department of Animal Services and Mosquito Control welcomed a host of former furry residents and friends for a reunion and free microchipping.
The department hosted its second annual “Shelter Reunion Day” on Saturday, Jan. 25, at the department’s headquarters on Monty Street. Designed to allow former animals and their owners the chance to connect with other pet families and provide “happy tails” after leaving the shelter, the event welcomed over 100 pet owners and potential pet owners interested in adopting.
“We love hosting this event every year,” said Travis Clark, director of animal services and mosquito control.
“We’ve been making record strides and producing amazing positive outcomes at the shelter, and so it has been great to celebrate with some of our former animals and their new families,” said Clark.
The event also featured pet education booths with partners such as Robinson Rescue, free microchipping for pets, a pet food pantry and door prizes for pet owners.
The department microchipped over 70 animals at the event.
