John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

PERKINS, SENIOR STAFF AND DEPARTMENT HEADS TAKE LEADERSHIP ROLE IN PAY CUTS

Real leaders lead by example. And that is what Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins displayed by announcing on Tues. April 7 pay cuts for his senior staff, department heads and himself. The 10 percent salary reduction will continue through the end of the year.

Perkin's example is a stark contrast to action taken by both the Greater Shreveport Chamber of Commerce and the Bossier Chamber of Commerce who retained highly paid staff at full pay and furloughed others.
