John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

SHREVEPORT’S CYBER-CITY HALL

With social distancing and self isolation the new normal, thanks to the Covid-19 pandemic, everyday business is being handled more and more online, even within Shreveport’s City Hall.

Keith Hanson, the city’s chief technology officer, has been working diligently to make it possible for city business to continue as smoothly as possible via computer.

“We have got about a hundred something people working from their homes, which, before two weeks ago, we’ve never even had a work-from-home policy,” Hanson said. “What that means is that people from their home computers — because we did not have enough laptops to distribute — have to have a secure and easy method of accessing all of the city’s internal applications from their house.”
