WRONG TIME FOR SMOKING BAN IN SHREVEPORT BARS

I am not a smoker.

I do not like to be around smoking.

I do not go to bars/establishments that allow smoking.

But I do respect the rights of smokers.

And I am concerned about the economic recovery of all Shreveport businesses from the pandemic, including bars.

The Shreveport City Council will consider an ordinance on Tues. June 9 to prohibit smoking in Shreveport bars.

Now is not the time to place another burden on local businesses.

At the last council meeting the fireworks ordinance that was pulled by its sponsor to allow for more public discussion.   Like this, the  proposed ban should be removed from the council agenda at this time.
