John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

PERMITS FOR POLITICAL SIGNS ON VACANT LOTS


The consent forms that must be signed by owners of  vacant property will be available on Monday, Aug. 2.

The UDC requires that candidates obtain these BEFORE posting a campaign sign on vacant lots.

If a sign has already been posted, it will be considered “legal” if permit is obtained by Friday, August 14.

The forms are at the city permit center on first floor of Government Plaza at 500 Travis Street.

There is no cost for the permit.

This area IS open to the public. Hours are 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.

Masks must be worn into the building and temperatures are taken at the door.
