Tired , yes!
Have you ever had a time trying to tell your children "no"? No, you can't have this or that, only to see them walk off in sadness.
Have you ever had that moment when you watch adults demonstrate childish behaviors? So childish responsibilities negated.
When children don't get their way, if the ball belongs to them or those marbles, they take them and go home. Adults often fall in this category as well.
The members of the Caddo Parish Commission have been dealing with an issue: non-attendance. In addition, who stands as the reasoning for non-attendance-COVID-19?
There's no doubt, COVID-19 has been the begin all and has no ending - well. not anytime soon - in sight.
Caddo Parish Commissioners not wanting to meet at Government Plaza because of the scare of COVID-19 is understandable, but, too, what is not understanding is the apprehension in not walking out on faith . That faith that says preparations have been made to safeguard the commissioners, any and everyone who enters the chamber at Government Plaza.
Much business requires attention of the members of the Caddo Parish Commission.
Political parties - Democrat and Republican - are why we aren't moving forth. Political pandering. I'm so tired .
I'm so tired because no one can see that beyond the politics that supports division and divisiveness, business isn't being sufficiently addressed, and I'm tired.
Therefore, the question remains, when will all 12 members of the Caddo Parish Commission feel safe enough to come back into the chamber at Government Plaza?
Every conceivable precaution is instituted to safeguard everyone who walks into Government Plaza . So, let's walk out on that faith we profess and get back to the real world - the normal one, that is, and will always be normal.
Democrat or Republican , I don't rightly care. The party affiliation, Democrat/ Republican, needs to end when it comes to the handling the business of our parish. When the members of the Commission lose sight, they cause pause and even harm. That tires me. I'm tired of being tired.
We are bigger than this. Our parish, we the people are relying on you elected officials to be about the business of our parish. That representation that demonstrates truth, nothing but the truth, when addressing the issues that need attention, but more importantly, you members of the Caddo Parish Commission, true representation .
We are not playing marbles. We can't get mad and take our marbles home, not even our ball. So do the bidding to which you each were entrusted.
No more practices that demonstrate other than a united Caddo Parish Commission being led by Commissioners who are about healing our parish and no more - aware or unaware - division and divisiveness.
We are better than this.
COVID-19 isn't going anywhere - well not anytime soon, maybe after the November election - but until then, let's get to work.
We are a parish, people of resilience.
