Tickets are now on sale for an SLT all-star table reading of the southern comedy “The Savannah Sipping Society.” This will be SLT’s first virtual event for online viewing on Oct. 3 and 4. SLT Academy has previously held numerous online events this summer.

“The Savannah Sipping Society” cast includes Anna Maria Sparke, Paula Sanders Sample, Kim Angevine Price and Heather Peak Hooper.

The online table reading of the play will be available for online viewing from 12 a.m. on Oct. 3 through midnight on Oct. 4.

Virtual tickets are being sold as “household tickets” for $20. A link and a password will be emailed to those virtual ticket holders before October 3. Tickets can be purchased by calling SLT’s box office at (318) 424-4439, or online by visiting SLT’s website at shreveportlittletheatre.com, or on SLT’s Facebook page.

SLT’s managing and artistic director, Dr. Robert Darrow, stated, “For 99 years, each of SLT's past 721 productions began with a table reading — with the actors seated around a table and reading the script together. We invite you behind the scenes to watch and listen to this reading of a hilarious southern comedy read by four of our region's most talented comedic actresses!”

The story: In this delightful, laugh-a-minute comedy from the authors of “The Dixie Swim Club,” four unique Southern women, all needing to escape the sameness of their day-today routines, are drawn together by fate – and an impromptu happy hour – and decide it’s high time to reclaim the enthusiasm for life they’ve lost through the years. Over the course of six months, filled with laughter and hilarious misadventures, these middle-aged women successfully bond and find the confidence to jump-start their new lives. Together, they discover lasting friendships and a renewed determination to live in the moment – and most importantly, realize it is never too late to make new old friends. So, raise your glass to these strong Southern women and their fierce embrace of life in this joyful and surprisingly touching comedy!
