BOSSIER CITY MAYOR CHANDLER IN VIOLATION OF CITY CHARTER

Tommy Chandler took the oath of office as Bossier City mayor on July 1 of this year.

At that time and as of Thursday, noon press deadline, Chandler is an elected member of the Republican State Central Committee (RSCC).

Section 4.03 of the Bossier City Charter reads, in part, that the mayor “shall hold no other elective or appointee public office or salaried employment except that of notary public or as a member of the National Guard, or Reserve component of the State of Louisiana.”

Chandler’s seat on the Republican RSCC is an elective office.

Reportedly, Chandler has been asked to resign his RSCC position several times, and he has allegedly agreed to the request.

Sources state that he has yet to send his letter of resignation to the Louisiana Secretary of State.
