John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

CENTENARY FILM SOCIETY: BLACK HISTORY MONTH FILM SERIES

The Centenary Film Society sponsors an annual film series that are shown at Robinson Film Center.

This year the series celebrates the works of Oscar-winning director Spike Lee.

Each film will include a video introduction from community leaders and local artists.

The series schedule:

Mo' Better Blues - Feb. 4
Jungle Fever - Feb. 9
Crookyn - Feb. 16
Clockers - Feb. 18
Inside Man - Feb. 23
BlackKkKlansman - Feb. 25

All the films start at 6 p.m.
