COUNCILMAN DAVID MONTGOMERY WRITES INSURANCE FOR MANY PUBLIC ENTITIES

David A. Montgomery Jr. is a Bossier City Council member.

Montgomery is one of two at-large council members.

He lives in north Bossier, and his insurance company is in north Bossier.

In March he was elected for a sixth four-year term.

Montgomery presently serves as president of the council.

Like all Louisiana elected officails, Montgomery must file an annual Personal Financial Disclosre Statement with the Lousisana Board of Ethics.

In his role as a council member, Montgomery votes on many appointments by the city of Bossier to various boards and agencies. He also votes on agreements with other government entities.

The most recent disclosure statement filed for 2021 shows a 50% ownrship interest in Montgomery Agency Inc.

The statement reflected income to the agency from the following political subdivisions:

Bossier Parish Police Jury -- $99,393

Caddo-Bossier Port Commission -- $45,780

Consolidated Waterworks/Sewage District No.1 of Bossier -- $14,070

Bossier Parish Sheriff-- $79,183

JDC Drug Court -- $2,710

Shreveport Bossier Convention and Tourist Bureau-- $11,150

26th Judicial District Court -- $1,855

Cypress Black Bayou Recreation & Water Conservation Districtt -- $10,910

Montgomery also is the 100% owner of David A. Montgomery Jr. Insurance. In this capacity, he received income from the Caddo-Bossier Port Commission of $13,360.

Bossier City council members approve appointments to the Port Commission, the tourist bureau and the Cypress Black Bayou board.

They also approve contracts with other Bossier governmental entities.
