John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

OCHSNER LSU HEALTH SHREVEPORT AND CADDO PARISH SHERIFF’S OFFICE HOST BACK-TO-SCHOOL SAFELY EVENT

Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport along with the Caddo Parish Sheriff’s Office will host a back-to-school Safely event on Thursday, Aug. 5 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Sheriff’s Safety Town.

The free event will include education on pedestrian crossing, school bus and weather safety as well as “stranger danger” and car seat safety checks. Backpack and school supplies giveaways will take place while supplies last. The Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport Eat Fit program will provide healthy after school snack ideas.

The Life Air Rescue helicopter will land on site, and the Shreveport Fire Department will also have a fire truck on site for viewing. Music and announcements will be provided by Derrick Green.

Community partners in attendance include Mary’s House, Renzi Art & Education Center, Volunteers of America and the YMCA. Come out with kids of all ages to enjoy this community event and learn how to return to school safely. For more information visit Back to School Safely Facebook Event Page.
