WILL CHANDLER NOW NOMINATE NOTTINGHAM FOR CAO POSITION
Bossier Mayor Tommy Chandler has been in office since July 1. He does NOT have a chief administrative officer (CAO), a projects coordinator (assistant CAO), a public works director.
He issued a press release stating he will have Amanda Nottingham on the agenda to be confirmed as the projects coordinator at the Tues. Sept 7 meeting. Now word on the street is that Chandler will nominate Nottingham for the CAO position.
The agenda for the Tues. meeting must be published by 3 p.m. tomorrow--Friday. At that time the public will know Chandler's intentions.
The Bossier City charter does not list any qualifications for the CAO position or the projects coordinator. Despite service on the Bossier Parish School board, work in the private sector and now employment as a realtor, Shane Cheatham was deemed unqualified by council king David Montgomery and his council lackeys.
Nottingham has experience as a public school teacher, legislative assistant for La. Representative Dodie Horton and the North Louisiana Right to Life director.
Unlike Cheatham , Nottingham has no supervisory experience, no business experience and no budgetary experience. Reportedly she is being pushed by Bossier City assistant attorney Richard Ray which brings up the question of loyalty to Chandler versus the Council. (Ray reports both to the mayor and the council).
If Chandler is looking for a pretty face and a chic wardrobe with high heels, then Nottingham fits the bill. If he does in fact nominate her for CAO, the next council meeting could be another circus.
Stayed tuned for the next episode of the Chandler versus Montgomery drama.
