BOSSIER MAYOR CHANDLER DUCKS OUT OF COUNCIL MEETING AND DUCKS HARD QUESTIONS

Not a good day for Bossier Mayor Tommy Chandler at the Bossier City Council meeting yesterday (Tues.).

Chandler attempted to amend his office budget after the budget adoption deadline.

The council refused to allow the amendment.

Chandler is catching big time heat for his unilateral decision to remove the Bossier Arts Council (BAC) as the manager of the East Bank District. The arts council will lose $50 thousand if the decision holds.

The new executive director spoke on the issue at the council meeting.

And then Chandler ducked out of the meeting. No mention of why, left his computer running and never returned.

Off the record, Chandler has admitted he has no plans on who will manage East Bank District if BAC is not the manager.

Another issue that Tommy did NOT want to hear was in the agenda.

An ordinance was introduced for first reading to require city owned vehicles be marked with Bossier City signage. Reportedly Chandler's high dollar city owned Tahoe is the only unmarked city car, and he
opposes any marking.

This ordinance will most likely pass at the next meeting.

At the next council meeting hopefully, Chandler will be in attendance until the meeting is adjourned.
