NEXT SHREVEPORT CITY COUNCIL MEETING THIS FRIDAY, NOT NEXT WEEK

It’s the annual Thanksgiving Shreveport city council meetings on the week before Turkey Day.

Friday's combined work session/regular meeting will be at 3 p.m. The regular Mon. work session and Tues. official meeting will not be held Thanksgiving week.

This should be a short meeting. Agenda items that are "controversial" will be continued.

But here are some non-agenda items that politicos are pondering:

A. Will MIA Mayor Perkins show for the meeting?

B. Will CAO Whitehorn, CFO Brown, and City Attorney Lattier discuss their employment plans for 2023?

C. Will council president James "Beard Butter" Green explain his endorsement of Perkins for re-election?

D. Will council member Tabitha "Tearful Tabby" Taylor explain her Perkin's endorsement?

E. Will council member Alan "Tagalong" Jackson explain why he only attended one hour out of nine hours of budget hearings last week?

F. Will council member LeVette Fuller acknowledge her ill-conceived last-minute campaign for mayor played the spoiler in the primary?

G. Will councilman BB Green and councilwoman TT Taylor announce their position on soft porn pictures posted on social media by councilmen's Jackson's wife? They endorsed Jackson along with Caddo School Member Terrence Vinson and Caddo Commissioner Steven Jackson.

H. Will department heads be polled to see if their resumes have been sent out?

I. How many city employees, especially in the mayor's office, will be working Thanksgiving week?

And lastly, will someone lead the administration, the council and those in the council chambers in one verse of Kumbaya at the end of the meeting?
