CARSTENSEN LOSES ELECTION CHALLENGE IN CADDO COURT TODAY

James Carstensen finished third in the primary for District B city council race.

Last week he filed an election challenge.

His case was litigated today before Judge Mike Pitman in the Caddo District Court.

The named defendants were the Caddo Registrar of Voters, the Caddo Clerk of Court and the Louisiana Secretary of State.

Attorneys for the defendants filed several exceptions. These pleadings alleged that Carstensen did not follow the strict statutory requirements for an election challenge.

Judge Pitman granted the exceptions and dismissed Carstensen's election challenge.

The District B runoff will be decided on Dec. 10 general election between front runner Gary Brooks and Mavice Thigpen-Hughes.
