WHY IS BOSSIER ARTS COUNCIL BEING REQUIRED TO REMOVE NEW LED SIGN?

It’s that time of the year when the public learns who has been naughty and who has been nice.

Often Santa brings lumps of coal early...as in before Christmas.

A good example is the plight of the Bossier Arts Council (BAC) and its new executive director Brittany Pope.

BAC received a grant from the Louisiana Office of Tourism to install an LED sign on its building in the East Bank District.

For some reason the sign displeased a certain Bossier city councilman who often has outbursts at the council meetings when things don't go his way. And now he reportedly is playing the role of the Grinch.

Pope received an email on Dec. 8 from Bossier City Attorney Charles Jacobs demanding that the newly installed LED to be removed within 30 days.

BAC fronted the money for the sign, with funding to come from the State after full installation. Now there are questions on what can be done with the sign along with the moneys expended by BAC and the yet to be paid grant from the State.

The Bossier City Council meetings tomorrow (Tues.). Hopefully some "light" will be shared on this signage.
