MAYOR-ELECT ARCENEAUX"S FIRST PRESS CONFERENCE

The event was held at his campaign headquarters on Line Ave at 10 a.m. this morning.  And it was like having a cup of coffee with old friends, sans the coffee.

Mayor-elect Arceneaux was the only one in the office and he visited with the reporters as they filed in for the press conference.

Arceneaux announced that former chief administrative officer Tom Dark would service as the interim CAO.

Sherrika Fields-Jones, a former CAO and chief finance officer, will serve as interim Director of Finance. She may become a permanent member of the cabinet.

Long time assistant city attorney Zelda Tucker will serve as the interim part-time city attorney.

Tom was relaxed and confident as were Dark and Fields-Jones. Tucker was unable to attend.

In essence, the pros were coming back to city hall with a clear mission to not miss a beat, keep the trains running on time  and restore credibility and accountability to city hall.

Its long overdue and there is no doubt that it will happen in the upcoming months.
