SUSLA PLANE AT REGIONAL AIRPORT HOLDS UP TERMINAL REHAB

JOHN E. SETTLE JR

Want an airplane?

Shreveport Southern University may have one to donate.

Only one minor problem--the plane is not operable.

The plane is causing a problem for the Shreveport Airport Authority in rehabbing  a terminal ramp. Its hard to dig up concrete and repave under an airplane.

So what gives?

The airport authority does not believe they have legal authority to move the plane.

Hmmm.

Maybe they should ask for an Attorney General's opinion.

Reportedly the authority has made one to determine if their committee meetings are subject to the Open Meetings Law.

Based on the incorrect advice given by an assistant city attorney to the Shreveport city council on the need to adopt an MPC ordinance, the SAA maybe should seek outside counsel's help on this issue.

Now, how about a nice plane? I know where you make can get one donated to you.
