IS MAYOR CHANDLER THE ONLY LEGAL CHICKEN IN BOSSIER CITY NOW?

JOHN E. SETTLE JR

Not surprisingly, the Bossier City council literally chickened out yesterday at its meeting.

A proposed ordinance to allow up to six chickens but no roosters was on the agenda.

The council voted unanimously to defeat the chicken proposal.

No doubt some Bossier residents  have some chicken pets that are illegal.

That means the only "legal chicken" in Bossier is Mayor Tommy Chandler who refuses to release his position on allowing expansion of SPORTRAN bus routes to south Bossier.

Reportedly Chandler made his decision weeks ago.

The longer Chandler awaits to announce his position the more the stink over possible discrimination based on race and social class will increase.

The days of sweeping political mess under the rug or denying its existence in Bossier are now history.

Chandler's delay could result in ugly litigation for Bossier City which prides itself on being "progressive."
