John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

FIRST IN SERIES: MAYOR PERKINS' CAMPAIGN FINANCIAL REPORT

Shreveport Mayor Adrian Perkins recently filed a campaign financial report for the period ending Dec. 31, 2021.

The report showed funds on hand of $104,500.

The maximum contribution that can be made by an individual or a legal entity is $2,500. Perkins had many maximum contributors: Bear Undergrounds Construction, LLC; Boles Shafto, LLC; Butler Snow, PAC ; Center, LLC; David Dunn Sr.; Phyllis Green; Gregorio, Chafin, Johnson, Poolson & Tabor, LLC; Griggs Enterprise; Nelva Griggs; Roy Griggs; Russell Hullaby; Cheynita James; Marshall James; Attorney Lori C. Graham; Judy B. Morris; Pettiette Armand Dunkelman: Pro-Cuts Lawn Care of NW La.; Pulley Construction; RKW Arkansas, LLC; RKW CMS, LLC; RKW Interests; RKW Leasing: RKW Louisiana, LLC; RKW Spor,t LLC; RKW Transportation; Washington and Wells, LLC; Wicker Construction; Kim Wicker; Ronald Wicker; Ronald and Kim Wicker.

The RKW entities and Wicker Construction entities are owned by Ron and Kim Wicker. The bundling of donations from separate entities is legal. The joint donation by the Wickers along with the separate donations of each may be questionable.

Wicker has major construction jobs for the city of Shreveport. All of these campaign contributions total $27,500, which is 26% of the total moneys collected for the campaign.

The attorneys who are hired by the city for legal work collectively donated $17,500.

Other city vendors contributed over $19,250.

Collectively, all those that have business with the city of Shreveport contributed $64,250, which is over 60% of the campaign funds collected.
