John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

Jim Taliaferro recently filed his campaign financial report for his mayoral campaign.

The report covered the time period ending Dec. 31, 2021.

The report showed funds on hand of $20,020.

The maximum contribution that can be made by an individual or a legal entity is $2,500.

Taliaferro had three maximum contributions: Clint Bartlett Bobby Jelk and an in-kind contribution by Red Arrow Victory Solutions Inc.

Taliaferro had six contributions of $1,000: Greg Burke, Katherine Clark, Patrick Garrett, Ronald Hermes, John Parker and an in-kind contribution by Earnest's Orleans Restaurant.

Taliaferro had no loans to his campaigns.

Taliaferro had no contributions from city vendors.
