CITY COUNCILMAN ALAN JACKSON MISLEADS CEDAR GROVE RESIDENTS

Alan Jackson is the appointed council representative for District E.

He recently posted the following text:

“Great Day residents of District E,

“Today is a new day in Shreveport, as the district lines have changed. Since those lines have changed, you now have a new City Councilman that represents your district. Dr. Alan Jackson now serves as that City Councilman. Join Dr. Jackson Tomorrow, June 28, 2022, from 5:30-6:30 p.m. at A.B. Palmer Recreation Center, 547 E. 79th Street to Meet Your Councilman. Dr. Alan Jackson is here to serve you.

This text is totally wrong.

A.B. Palmer Park is currently in District D.

The redistricting approved by the Shreveport City Council moves A.B. Palmer Park in Cedar Grove from District D into District E.

The redistricting does not go into effect until after the new District E is sworn into office.

Thus, Jackson is falsely communicating with future constituents.

Obviously, this is a campaign ploy by Jackson, and it is unethical.
