CHEROKEE PARK IN DISTRICT B AND SPRING LAKE IN DISTRICT E?

Hmmm.

My google map shows the Cherokee Park subdivision to be north of the Shreveport Downtown Airport.

That's where I always believed it to be.

I know it was when I attended a Shreveport bond townhall meeting at Cherokee Park Elementary School.

My google map also indicates that Spring Lake Subdivision on is on the east side of Line Ave,
I pass by there almost every Sat. when I go cycle at Ellerbe Road Baptist Church. At least it was last Sat.
(Sept. 10).

I know things change, but both these neighborhoods have always been in Shreveport council district A
and District D, respectively. And they probably always will be.

Cherokee Park is a long way, even as the crow flies, from the northern boundary of District B.

Spring Lake is a bastion of southeast Shreveport and it is a 'hike" from the closest boundary line of
District E.

So how do you explain mail in ballots being wrong?

Why do some ballots received in Cherokee Park have council candidates for District B listed?

Similarly, why should Spring Lake residents be asked to vote for District E council candidates?

Dale Sibley is the Caddo Registrar of Voters. Sibley has always been low key, and especially after his
appointment as the Registrar.

Sibley has been the subject of complaints by some Caddo Commissioners about their requests for a
second early voting location.

Others in the community have questioned if he should also be associated with a local law firm.

Members of the media are not happy about his unresponsiveness to these ballot issues.

As many have said, he certainly is no Ernie Roberson the prior Registrar. Ernie was a high-profile official who was always available to the media.

The mail in ballots are the responsibility of Kyle Ardoin, the Louisiana Secretary of State. Reportedly the ballot gate issue has been reported to him.

Several questions need to be answered. These include:

1. How did these gross mistakes occur?

2. Who is responsible for the mistakes--Sibley or Ardoin?

3. How many more ballots have incorrect council district candidates listed?

4. What other mistakes were made on all the ballots mailed to Shreveport voters?

5. How can this be adequately resolved, since many ballots have already been mailed in.

The Nov. 8 primary will have many close council races as well as the mayoral race.

How impactful will these known ballot mistakes and all the unknown ones, will be is a question that likely will be cloud on the integrity of the elections.

The Secretary of State is an elected position, so there is some voter accountability.

The same is not true of the Caddo Registrar because it is a lifetime appointment, which is unfortunate.

The cherry on top is the report of a long time parish resident of his receipt of a mail in ballot to allow him to vote for mayor. No, it was not Greg Tarver!
