WHY IS SPD PIO CPL BORDELON PROTECTING CADDO COMMISSIONER STEVEN JACKSON?
Caddo Commissioner Steven Jackson appears in Caddo district judge Katherine Dorroh tomorrow
(Wed.) at 9:30 on a hearing for a permanent protective order.
Judge Dorroh previously issued a temporary restraining order against Jackson from stalking W.D. on Jan. 4.
The pleadings filed by W.D. contained numerous screen shots of texts by her to Jackson requesting he leave her and her nine-year-old daughter alone. Jackson responded with texts saying he would continue to seek her favor.
A telling text by Jackson to the daughter was one asking her to delete his prior texts.
Since the issuance of the order Jackson has been arrested in Bossier City on the felony charge of
impersonating a police officer. The charges state that he drove a prior owned law enforcement vehicle and pulled over a citizen using a blude light. He then stated he was a law enforcement official.
Thereafter this author has filed an incident report against Jackson for assault--"Settle I am going to take you down" while waving a cell phone two inches from my face. The incident report also is for a battery--poking me in the cheek with his fist.
All these actions happened after a meeting by the Caddo Commission in the chambers at Government Plaza after a commission meeting. Jackson was pulled away from my face by Caddo Administrator Woody Wilson and forcefully removed by Wilson and two commissioners in an adjacent break room to prevent further attacks by Jackson.
An incident report had been filed a few years back against Jackson for stalking. This time the lady stated he refused to leave her alone and kept coming to her door. He even left roses after she told him to get out of her life.
Jackson skated on this incident report because he was an elected official. SPD contacted Jackson and he promised to leave that lady alone. Subsequently no action was taken by SPS.
I made a public records request to Public Information Officer (PIO) Cpt Bordelon for this incident report.
He failed after a substantial time to provide the report as required by the Louisiana Public Records Act.
Bordelon also failed to a second request for the incident report.
When confronted at a meeting at noon today about his failure to respond, Bordelon nonchalantly said it was not his job to print off incident reports. He made reference to an office that I should have gone to for the report.
B.S.
The Public Records Act clearly states that requested public records are to be provided OR direction be given to the person requesting on where and how to get the record.
Bordelon did nothing, except ignore two valid public records requests.
Bordelon acknowledged he was award of the pending stalking allegations against Jackson as well as the felony arrest. But still, he refused to take any action on a valid public records request.
So, what’s the deal?
Will Bordelon refuse to comply with the Public Records Act.?
I have another request pending before him. Hopefully it will not be necessary to file litigation naming Bordelon, SPD and the City to get the requested information.
FOCUS SB and this author have been very supportive of SPD.
Additionally, this office coordinated a campaign to have businesses register security cameras with the Real Time Crime Center by donating $100 to 10 business who signed her systems with the center.
So, what's the deal?
