WILL SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF SHREVEPORT CITY COUNCIL TOMORROW BE LEGAL?

A special meeting of the Shreveport city council has been scheduled for tomorrow (Fri.) at 11:30 am.

The only matter on the agenda is election of chairman of the council.

A request for a temporary restraining order to prevent this meeting is currently pending.

Special meetings of the council can be called by the mayor, the council chairman, or four members of the council.

A request has been made to determine who/how this meeting was called.

Green should not be allowed to vote or agree on a special meeting since the pending litigation deals with the legality of his election as chairman on Dec. 31.
