The Shreveport MPC meets tomorrow, Wednesday, Nov. 1.

The agenda includes the following major changes/clarifications to the Shreveport Unified Development Code (UDC) on establishments with Liquor Sales:

1. New language that states that any establishment with Liquor Sales (as per UDC) can NOT be located closer than 300 feet from the property line of any adult day care center, child or day care center, educational facility, healthcare institution, place of worship or public park.

2. New language that states Liquor Sales cannot be part of any ordinance relief request that is associated with any Planned Unit Development (PUD).

3. Variances cannot be requested and granted to provide relief in any distance requirement for liquor sales.

4. Any permit, certificate of occupancy, or other approval for Liquor Sales shall expire if the operations of the said use cease for a continuous period of 90 days by discontinuation or abandonment.

Public comments can be made on the proposed amendments. The MPC can vote on these at tomorrow's meeting. The Shreveport City Council must approve any UDC amendments.
