John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

RECENT CAMPAIGN CONTRIBUTIONS TO SHERIFF CANDIDATE NICKELSON

At this stage of the election process, candidates must file reports with Louisiana Ethics Commission with two days of the receipt of campaign contributions.

The Administration website lists two of disclosures by Caddo Sheriff candidate John Nickelson since the filing of the 10-day report. Here are the recent donors of $1,000 or more:

Collectively all the donations in the two 48 Hour Reports totaled $28,500. The total raised for the run-off election exceeds $171,000.

Nickelson's opponent Henry Whitehorn did not have any 48 Hour Reports on the website as of this morning. His 10-day Report showed campaign contributions since the primary less than $38,000.

The election is tomorrow Saturday.
