MAYOR ARCENEAUX ANNOUNCES CHOICE FOR CITY ATTORNEY
Shreveport may soon have a permanent city attorney.
Mayor Arceneaux announced at the Caddo Republican lunch just now that Marcus Edwards was his choice.
Edwards has been a member of the Shreveport law firm of Mayer, Smith & Roberts since 2012.
Edwards has an undergraduate degree from Morehouse College (cum laude, 2007) and Tulane Law School with a certificate in international and comparative law (2010).
Edwards also clerked at the 1st Judicial District Court before entering private practice.
Edwards is a member of the Harry V. Booth and Judge Henry A. Politz American Inn of Court.
Edwards has a reputation of being an astute attorney with a diligent work ethic.
The council is expected to unanimously confirm Edwards.
