John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

CADDO COMMISSIONER JACKSON WITHDRAWS MOTION TO RECUSE JUDGE STINSON

Caddo Commissioner Steven Jackson has pending charges of impersonating a law enforcement officer in Benton.

Judge Doug Stinson is the judge assigned to the case.

After his arraignment on this felony charge, Jackson then filed a motion to recuse Judge Stinson alleging bias.

The recusal hearing was set for today, Monday, before Judge Lane Pittard.

Jackson did not show up for the hearing.

His attorney dismissed the recusal motion.

The case is next back on the docket on June 21.

Jackson has a pending charge in Shreveport City Court for assault.
