A LOOK AT THE HOSTS FOR HENRY WHITEHORN'S ANNOUNCMENT OF SHERIFF RACE

The invitation had a long, long list of "hosts" for the announcement event on Tues. at Orlandeaux's restaurant.

Notables listed included the following:

a. Shreveport council members Alan Jackson, Tabatha Taylor and James Green.

b. Caddo School Board attorney Reg Abrams

c. former Shreveport City attorney Ron Lattier.

d. Port Commissioners Roy Griggs, Sam Gregorio, Josh Williams, and Rick Prescott

e. Grambling University president Rick Gallot

f. BRF president John George

g. Rickey Hall/Hall Builders

h. former state senator Lydia Jackson

i. former U.S. senator Mary Landrieu

j. former Shreveport mayor Adrian Perkins

k. Rev. Theron Jackson and numerous other ministers.

Caddo DA James Stewart was not listed as a host, even though he reportedly is a major supporter of Whitehorn. The same is true for Whitehorn's neighbor Lynn Braggs.

The large number of hosts probably does not translate into that much in campaign contributions or actual voter support when considering this is a parish-wide race and that Sheriff Prator started the year with over $125,000.
