John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

IN LOVING MEMORY OF COURTNEY H. VINSON

A memorial service honoring the life of Courtney Holland Vinson will be held on June 24, 2023, at 1:00 p.m. at Osborn Funeral Home, 3631 Southern Ave., Shreveport.

Courtney, (Sister), was born on July 9, 1981, at Barksdale Air Force Base She was a lifelong resident of Shreveport. Courtney passed away on June 15, 2023, following a lengthy illness.

Courtney was a graduate of Huntington High School and became an accomplished beautician after attending Cosmetology School. As a gifted hair stylist, Courtney was known for her magnetic personality and wonderful sense of humor.

Family and friends knew Courtney as "Sister.'" Sister had a true care giver's heart and was always willing to help those she loved. She was a devoted daughter, sister, aunt. and friend.

Left-to cherish her memory are Father; Gary Vinson, Mother; Tina Holland Caporossi. Sister; Peyton Vinson, and her Nephew .and Niece; Nathan and Evann Gibson whom she adored, and close friend Derrick Lott, as well as a host of friends.

Encompass Health Care. and Willis Knighton Bossler, ICU for their care and compassion during Courtney's last days.
