John came to Shreveport in January of 1977 when he was transferred to Barksdale AFB.

He’s been active in Shreveport politics since deciding to make Shreveport his home.

John practiced law for 40 years and he now monitors local politics. He regularly attends Shreveport City Council and Caddo Parish Commission meetings.

John is published weekly in The Inquisitor, bi-monthly in The Forum News, and frequently in the Shreveport Times.

He enjoys addressing civic groups on local government issues and elections.

 

BREAKING NEWS ON CADDO COMMISSION RACES

1. Caddo Commissioner Steffon Jones paid his outstanding fines to the Louisiana Ethics Commission.

Thus, he stays on the ballot, and he will be re-elected because no other person qualified for his seat.

2. Grace Ann Blake will be sworn in to fill the unexpired District 8 term of Jim Taliaferro on Sept. 5. Blake qualified for both the unexpired term as well as the new term to start in Jan.

Ron Cothran had qualified for the interim race as well as the new commission district he is in after the re-districting. Cothran withdrew from the District 8 race. Blake faces Tim Euler on Oct. 14 for the District 8 four-year term.

3. The lawsuit challenging Cothran's residency in the new District 10 is being dismissed.

4. A lawsuit challenging Quinton Aught's residency in the new District 10 is set for a hearing on Mon. Aug. 21.
