Is there a politician that you can identify here locally who demonstrates courage, honor, is courteous, and ready to help the weak?
Well, there is one. Her name is Councilwoman Ursula Bowman.
Councilwoman Ursula Bowman is a woman of strength, a woman of worth and a woman we can trust; we can.
None of us would have ever thought an unveiling of what goes on behind closed doors of our Shreveport City Council, especially with this Paygate issue, but we all do now, compliments of Councilwoman Ursula Bowman.
What we all now know is Councilwoman Ursula Bowman is a force to be reckoned with.
You do not get to step on Councilwoman Bowman toes and not get a reaction.
In the midst of our reluctance to trust Councilwoman Bowman, she refused to sign off on a legislative audit and was redeemed.
Councilwoman Bowman’s effort brought forth results of her investigation, showing us how and why we are still addressing the effects of Paygate -- priceless.
We knew in our hearts that things going on behind closed doors could easily produce unsound effects but no real evidence ... until now.
Councilman Bowman stepped out on her faith, trusting that all she unveiled now would begin a healing for our city, her intent from the start.
As Councilwoman Bowman said, “I am here to help our city; no time for games,” and such is evident in her actions.
I commend Councilwoman Bowman for her willingness to step forth and help a healing to begin for our city, even amongst those whom we elected to walk with her in ensuring our city. We, the people, are ever at the helm of why such decisions demonstrate "A Better Shreveport."
