Here are the basic terms of the MOU:
1. The operation begins tomorrow (Oct. 29) at 6 a.m. and continues until Dec.31 at midnight.
2. The operation will be conducted in the area south of Bert Kouns Industrial Loop from Hwy 80 at I-20 to Ellerbe Road and south to the city parish lines.
3. CPSO will provide law enforcement services to the area 24/7 with CPSO patrol certified deputies.
4. Calls for service will be dispatched by Caddo 911.
5. CPSO will work all calls to conclusion from initial call for service with investigations and crime scene services.
6. If no CPSO units are available to answer a call for service, the call will be directed to SPD.
7. CPSO will transport and book all arrested persons into Caddo Correctional Center. If SPD responds to the call, bookings will be at the Shreveport city jail.
8. SPD will deploy three member teams to target high crime areas on each shift.
9. SPD will provide K-9 services to assist CPSO calls for service when requested.
10. SPD will respond to and work all traffic incidents on Bert Kouns Industrial Drive.
These services will be provided by the CPSO at no charge to SPD and the City of Shreveport.
