VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY TO DELIVER THANKSGIVING MEALS IN CADDO PARISH

Volunteers are needed to help spread the warmth this Thanksgiving in Caddo Parish.

State Representative Steven Jackson, (D) District 2, along with Mount Canaan Church, need more drivers to deliver meals to the homebound on Thanksgiving.

The effort is being conducted in partnership with the Caddo Council on Aging.

The council's director, Monica Wright, said they've arranged for roughly 400 homebound seniors to receive meals on the holiday throughout the parish.

She said the goal of the meal delivery is to make sure the recipients are getting proper nutrition and benefiting from that human contact, as well.

Mount Canaan representatives didn't say how many more drivers they need, but if you're interested, you can sign up online by following this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040E4CA8A728A3FC1-52990115-hope#/

The hours needed are between 10:30 a.m. and noon on Thanksgiving Day.
