WILL CURTIS "50 Cent" JACKSON LEASE THE RED RIVER DISTRICT?
DDA Executive Director Cedric Glover appeared on the Mike and McCarty radio show this morning. I had the privilege of being the co-host in the absence of Erin.
I had many questions for Glover, most of which were answered off the air during commercial and news breaks.
One question dealt with the Red River District (RRD), which has languished for many years as an entertainment venue. The City of Shreveport owns the district.
Currently, there are three tenants in the RRD--Fatty Arbuckle’s Pub, Casandra's on the River, and G-Spot Daq-2-Go Daiquiri shop. In the past years, these tenants have been plagued by homeless people/vagrants, panhandlers, and trash/debris.
Glover said that Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson is interested in leasing the Red River District.
Reportedly, Jackson is in discussions with the Arceneaux administration to lease the district along with Expo Hall. Currently, Jackson is in default on a lease for Millennium Studios.
