DISTRICT F RESIDENTS: WHAT'S IN THE BOND PACKAGE FOR YOU?

It’s a good question.

It’s important to remember that the three proposals are for the benefit of the entire city, not just District F. Also remember that District F residents go to other districts in the city to work, play, shop, dine, visit, etc.

Here is a list of streets and drainage projects for District F:
1. Monkhouse Drive Improvements and Beautification   $2,000,000
2. Concrete Collector Street Reconstruction
West Canal - Hollywood to West 70th Street   $5,600,000
Valleyview Drive - West Canal to Jewella   $3,500,000
3. Asphalt Collector Street Reconstruction
Canal - Hollywood to Waggoner   $1,000,000
4. Concrete Collector Panel Replacement
Jewella - Hollywood to Mansfield Road   $1,500,000
Kennedy Drive north of Hollywood   $1,500,000
5. Collectors and Arterials
Hollywood - Mansfield Road to Jewella   $2,100,000
Kennedy Drive - I-20 to Hollywood to West 70th Street   $1,400,000
6. Neighborhood Street Reconstruction in District F   $4,600,000
7. Interstate Highway LED Lighting   $7,000,000 (entire city will benefit)
8. Traffic Signal Installation   $600,000 (entire city will benefit)
9. Brush Bayou Ditch Panel Replacements   $2,000,000
10. Neighborhood Drainage Projects   $2,000,000 (entire city will benefit)
11. Water and Sewer
Amiss Water Treatment Plant   $20,000,000 (entire city will benefit)
Citywide Lift Station Improvements   $9,000,000 (entire city will benefit)
Lift Station Generators   $6,000,000 (Districts F, D, E)
12. Police and Fire Academy Renovations   $4,000,000 (entire city will benefit)
13. Swimming Pool Replacement (Airport, So. Hills, Splash Pad at Bilberry) $3,300,000
14. Public Buildings   $20,700,000 (entire city will benefit)

The three proposals will not result in an ad valorem tax increase until 2027 due to the fact that several tax millages/bond payments will expire. Even then the increases are minimal.

There are many reasons District F residents should vote YES on all three bond proposals.

Early voting ends this Saturday, April 20, and the bond package is on the April 27 ballot.
