RETRACTION AND APOLOGY TO GREEN AND TALOR DUE TO BAD COMPUTER DOG
Geez...blame my fat fingers and the computer dog.
The article below had been programmed last Friday to go out today after the subject press release was received.
Over the weekend my research revealed the substations were in the 2021 bond package that WAS supported by council members James Green and Tabatha Taylor.
I attempted to cancel the MAILCHIMP setting from my iPhone at home.
Lesson learned--pin a note to my shirt and have my great techno-savvy employee cancel the MAIPCHIMP email blast.
Apology to Green and Taylor on any misstatement.
I think I was distracted by reading that breaking investigative reporting in the Shreveport Bossier Advocate about a local gender reveal party for a kangaroo. The downtown crowd that pledged to underwrite this online paper with $500,000 for 3 years by making tax deductible contributions to Community Foundation should have enjoyed that read.
NON BOND SUPPORTERS GREEN AND TAYLOR PRAISE PASSAGE OF BOND
Goodness, how do you define hypocrisy?
Council members James Green and Tabatha Taylor, who are often referred to as the NO TO TOM (Arceneaux) DUO (NOTD), opposed all three bond propositions which were passed by historic margins in April of this year.
One of this propositions was for public safety.
On Friday, June 7, the NOTD had the director of council affairs R.J. Johnson issue a press release entitled "Council Members Applaud Administration's Commitment to Public Safety in Shreveport." And now you know what RJ does, sometimes.
No, surprisingly the presser has not been reported by other media.
There are parts of the release:
1. They extend their "heartfelt thanks to voters for approving" the package and to Mayor Tom for moving forward the initiatives to enhance public safety, especially in their districts.
2. NOTD "have long advocated for increased resources and infrastructure to support law enforcement".
3. Both Green and Taylor had self-serving quotes in the release.
4. They praised the start of the construction projects for substations that are in their districts and included in the bond package. Hmmm...may the package was a good idea after all.
Hypocrisy can be defined in several ways. For Green and Taylor looking in the mirror should give them an accurate image of a hypocrite.
