50 CENT COMMENDED FOR HIS VISIT TO BARKSDALE AIR FORCE BASE

I am proud to say I served in the U.S. Air Force for almost four years. I served as a Staff Judge Advocate, which is an Air Force attorney. As I used to say, I "flew a desk."

I was stationed at Castle Air Force Base in Atwater, California for three years. My last 11 months were at Barksdale Air Force Base (BAFB). I gained a great appreciation for all those who were part of the team that supported the mission of the Air Force, especially those that kept the B-52s flying.

This week, Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson visited BAFB. Jackson was briefed on the mission of BAFB and the role of the airmen who are the foundation of the Air Force. This visit was part of Jackon's commitment to invest in and support the Shreveport community, which includes BAFB and the airmen who are the integral members.

Hat's off to Jackson. I know his schedule here in town is quite busy with preparations for the upcoming Humor & Harmony Festival. Taking the time to visit the base speaks well of Jackson and his team.
