SHERIFF WHITEHORN SETS OUT HIS PRIORITIES AND HOPES  AT SWEARING IN CEREMONY

Henry L. Whitehorn Sr. was sworn into office as the Caddo Sheriff yesterday (Monday, July 1) before a crowd of approximately 1,000 citizens at the Shreveport Convention Center.

In his speech after taking the oath of office, Sheriff Whitehorn listed his priorities:

1. To foster an environment where safety is a communal achievement shared and sustained by every member of our society.

2. To leverage relationships and share with law enforcement partners to prevent crime.

3. To collaborate with community-based organizations to provide more opportunities for youth to keep them out of trouble.

4. To maximize the use of technology in law enforcement efforts.

5. To have the best law enforcement agency in the state.

Sheriff Whitehorn also set forth his hopes as Sheriff:

1. To have a community where safety is a right, not a privilege.

2. To have a community where every voice matters.

3. To have a community where every life is vital.

4. To have a community that is united and stands together in the face of adversity.

Whitehorn named his command staff last Friday, June 28. It’s obvious that he has prepared well for his new job. As sheriff, he will have opportunities for cooperation with all agencies involved in law enforcement including the Caddo DA.
