IS SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER AFRICAN AMERICAN CHAMBER AUTHORIZED TO HAVE VENDOR BLOCK PARTY?

An email from the Shreveport-Bossier Chamber of Commerce announces an upcoming Black Business Party Pop-Up Shop to showcase products during Humor & Harmony Weekend.

The email advised that potential vendors must complete an application for approval. The Chambers is charging $100 for a one-day permit and $200 for a two-day permit to secure a table.

The pop-up event is being held at 620 Texas Street--the location of the downtown Southern University Shreveport.

It is NOT known if the tables will be in the Southern building or on the sidewalk. Sidewalk vendors are NOT allowed unless permitted by the Downtown Development Authority.

Hopefully,  the Shreveport Bossier Chamber will not have a sidewalk event without proper authority.
