IS SHREVEPORT-BOSSIER AFRICAN AMERICAN CHAMBER OF COMMERCE VIOLATING NONPROFIT STATUS WITH ‘BLACK BUSINESS BLOCK PARTY'?

Below is the posting on the website of the Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce.

Obviously, the Shreveport-Bossier African American Chamber of Commerce (SBAAC) promotes local businesses with an emphasis on minority businesses.

Presumably, this chamber has a non-profit IRS status.

The website posting for a Black Business Block Party reads as if this event is limited to "black businesses". Admittingly nothing in the registration form indicates that only black businesses can participate, but perception is important.

The SBAAC always promotes diversity, equity and inclusion. The Black Business Block Party promotion seemingly promotes EXCLUSION.

The chamber's tax-exempt status could be questioned if vendors are limited to only African Americans.
