CADDO SHERIFF WHITEHORN NAILS DOWN ANOTHER CAMPAIGN PROMISE

Henry L. Whitehorn, Sr. has been the Caddo Parish Sheriff for just over six months. He took office on July 1 of last year.

In his extended campaign for this position Whitehorn emphasized that law enforcement was just one of his priorities if elected as the chief law enforcement officer of the parish.

He promised to assist other parish law enforcement agencies. The sheriff's office took over the primary law enforcement responsibility in southeast Shreveport for three months.

The Caddo Sheriff Safety Town was transformed into Sheriff's Candy Land with a month of holiday events for children including letters to Santa. And like many other law enforcement agencies Sheriff deputies delivered gifts to Caddo Students.

Just today Sheriff Whitehorn is launching an Explorer POST Program. This initiative offers Caddo students the opportunity to explore pathways in law enforcement and develop essential skills for the future. The Norwela Council of Scouting America is assisting in this program.

The program is for youth aged 13 to 18 and will serve as a hands-on educational platform that combines career exploration with leadership development.

This initiative is another example of Whitehorn's commitment to fostering community engagement. This will also help equip the future generation with the tools they need to succeed.

Whitehorn's accomplishments in less than seven months, which include filling many open positions in his department, is remarkable and unprecedented.
