CULT HERO 50 CENT'S RELATIONSHIP WITH TRUMP MAY AFFECT COUNCIL ANTI-TRUMP RESOLUTIONS

Politicos expected yesterday's Shreveport City Council meeting to be a repeat of the Monday council work session with lengthy self-serving monologues from the four Democrat council members on the need to pass three resolutions condemning actions of President Trump.

The proposed Expo Hall lease was expected to be easily approved.

But low and behold--Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson made a well-choreographed "surprise" visit to the city council meeting. Jackson spoke to the council before the Expo Hall lease vote. He was virtually crowned KING in the comments by council members.

Interestingly enough, the three controversial anti-Trump administration resolutions were on the agenda before the vote on Expo Hall. These resolutions were postposed with the only comment being that the language needed to be revised. This maneuver eliminated an anticipated lengthy vitriolic dialogue between council members with possibly one or two negative votes.

On Nov. 6 of last year Jackson posted on Instagram that "I don't care how the fight goes. I am leaving with the winner ." In the post Jackson attached two photos of Jackson with President-elect Donald J. Trump. Jackson has a track record of schmoozing with celebrities and "big wigs."

Jackson met with Gov. Jeff Landry to discuss movie tax credits last Oct. He certainly is concerned with possible further film tax credit reductions in the upcoming session of the Louisiana Legislature. As a savvy businessman, Jackson certainly is aware that the Council's proposed anti Trump resolutions can have a negative effect on Shreveport and Louisiana.

Who knows--Jackson may suggest to the Democratic council members to avoid controversial resolutions like the three that should be the agenda for the council's next meeting. If nothing more, his presence yesterday delayed another "ugly" meeting. And while Jackson is being worshipped by many, very little if any attention and praise has been directed by Shreveport elected officials on those developers who are actually spending money in the downtown area.
