KTBS BACKTRACKS ON MISLEADING NEWS STORY ON 1,100 JOBS COMING TO SHREVEPORT

The headline on a KTBS news story on Tuesday promised 1,000 new jobs coming to Shreveport. The first paragraph stated that "Platinum Hits Entertainment Inc. is opening a new branch office in the Shreveport-Bossier area bringing 1,100 jobs to the area."

SETTLETALK posted a column asking if the news story was bogus. A simple internet search and an attempted phone call to the corporate headquarters left serious doubts about the credibility of Platinum Hits--much less the news story.

And guess what? It was a bogus story.

Yesterday, KTBS posted a story "Platinum Hits Entertainment's Shreveport Expansion raises questions."

Daaa.

What's that old adage--"if it sounds too good to be true, then it probably isn't."

Goodness, did KTBS do ANY research before posting this ludicrous story? To the station's credit (?), the story has been corrected.

Maybe someone on Kings Hwy. had been snorting too much 50 Cent legacy dust.
